If you have a spare smartphone in good working condition, it could help us provide a digital lifeline to someone in need.

Donated phones will be converted to cash and any proceeds, through our partnership with Crisis, will help us provide digital connections, in the form of additional phones and devices, data, minutes and texts.

To donate your phone, simply complete the form below and we’ll send you a freepost label so you can get your phone to us.

All data you’ve provided to us will be used exclusively for booking in your device and for facilitating the delivery of your freepost label. This data will not be used for any additional purposes and will comply with our privacy policy. All smartphones received are wiped of user data, and restored to factory settings.

Don’t have a phone to donate?

You can still help end homelessness with a one-off £2 donation to Crisis, when you text ‘Reconnects’ to 70004.

Text donations cost £2 plus your standard network rate to send to a premium number. Crisis UK is a charity registered in England and Wales 1082947, and Scotland SC040094. Company Number: 4024938. Crisis will receive 100% of the text donation which will help to support their members to stay connected to their vital services. All supporters must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message. If you are under 16, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission. Frequently asked questions.

What devices can be donated?

We’re taking all smartphones in good working condition. If you’ve got an old smartphone sitting in a drawer, now’s the time to dig it out and donate it.

What if my phone works fine but my phone has some minor damage?

We can accept phones with minor scratches or scuffs, but we’ll be unable to accept your phone if it has any cracks or screen damage.

What if I don’t send my charger or don’t have one?

If you have the charger that would be really helpful – but if not, we’d still love to receive your donated smartphone.

What happens if I forgot to wipe my personal data before sending you my phone?

Don’t worry. We’ll wipe all personal data when we receive your phone.

Anything else I should do before sending my phone to you?

Please save anything important to your iCloud or Android account. We then recommend that you restore to factory settings to delete all personal data and remove your SIM card. Ensure your PIN lock is removed and that you log out of your iCloud or Android account. Don’t worry, we will remind you when we send your freepost label.

Can I donate my phone in Tesco Mobile Phone Shops?

Right now we can only accept your old smartphones by post.

How does my phone donation help Crisis?

Your phone will be converted to cash and we’ll use any proceeds to provide even more phones, devices and connectivity to Crisis, to help end homelessness.

I’m having issues when I try to text to donate. What do I do?

Check you’ve text the right number and word. As a reminder it’s ‘Reconnects’ to 70004. If it’s still not working, it could be linked to the safety buffer you set on your account. Log in to your account to check or change your safety buffer. If that still doesn’t work, get in touch and we’ll do all we can to help.

How does my £2 donation help?

Crisis will use your donation to help their members stay connected to their vital services.

Is there any other way I can donate?

Not right now, but we’ll be launching a number of initiatives between now and 2023, so please keep checking back.
