The Tesco Mobile App
Whether you’re on a pay monthly contract or Pay as you go Essentials, the Tesco Mobile app gives you all the useful features you need, exactly when you need them.
Think of it as your phone’s helpful companion. You can view your bills and usage, top up and manage your bundles, set safety buffers and check out your upgrade options.
These features are available any time of day or night — so there’s no need to visit our Phone Shops.

You can download the Tesco Mobile app in the Google Play Store. Once the app is installed, you also use the Google Play Store for future updates. To start, simply search for ‘Tesco Mobile’ and select the page for the app.
Once you’re on the Tesco Mobile app’s page, find and press the ‘Update’ button. Check and accept any permissions that might be requested, then sit back while your app updates. Like many other apps, updates for the Tesco Mobile app are free. If there’s ever any charge to download or update an app, this will be made clear before you decide to press the update button.
If you don’t see an ‘Update’ button on the app’s page in the Google Play Store, you will probably see ‘Uninstall’ and ‘Open’ options instead. This means you already have the most up-to-date version of the app installed on your device, so there’s nothing more for you to do.
You can also use the Google Play Store to update several apps at once. Once you’re in the store, simply tap on your circular profile picture in the top-right corner, then select ‘Manage apps’. If you see an option that says ‘Updates available’, you can tap it to see a list of all your apps with pending updates. From here, there should be clear options to ‘Update all’ or to manually choose the apps you’d like to update.

Occasionally we update our pay monthly and pay as you go Tesco Mobile Apps to bring you new features or to fix the odd little bugs that we might find, so it’s good to make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the app on your phone.
To use the Tesco Mobile app, iPhone users will need a device using an operating system of version iOS 15.0 or later. Android users will need a device using an operating system of Android 7.0 or later.
If you’re not sure which operating system (also known as ‘software version’) your device uses, it’s easy to check. On most iOS devices you can go to ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘About’. On most Android devices, you can go to ‘Settings’ > ‘About’ > ‘Software information’.
The app does use a small amount of mobile data. However, you can still use some of the app’s features if you've run out of data, or if you’ve reached your safety buffer.
First, please make sure you’re using the latest version of the Tesco Mobile app. The other questions in these FAQs will explain how to update the app. The latest version of the app will have fixes for any known bugs and will have all the latest features we’ve added.
If you’re experiencing issues with your app crashing or becoming unresponsive, then try shutting the app down completely and re-launching it. If this doesn’t fix the problem, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If you're still having issues then, please contact us and we'll get you back up and running.
