It’s great having you on board our trolley. Just to let you know, we’ll be sending you your free SIM via Royal Mail 1st Class post. It should be dropping through your letter box in the next 3 to 5 working days – and you won’t need to sign for it.

How do I do it?

1) Put your new SIM card into your phone

Your new SIM card will come in a plastic tri-SIM card with all three SIM sizes together. Make sure you check which SIM size you need and carefully pop out the right one.

On the back of your card you'll see your new mobile number and SIM serial number.

If you pop out the wrong sized SIM then you'll need to get another one. Come back here to re-order or pop into your nearest store.

2) Move your number to Tesco Mobile

It's easy, just text PORT to 23424 free from the number you want to replace (on your new SIM card).

We'll text you back asking you to reply with the mobile number you want to keep (your old one) and then we'll text you again asking for your PAC code from your old network.

Then we'll text your old number (the one you want to keep) within 24 hours to let you know when we'll move it over to Tesco Mobile.

Ordering a replacement SIM?

If you’re ordering a replacement SIM you’ll need to do a SIM swap.

3) Top-up and activate your Rocket Packs SIM

If you've just joined Tesco Mobile, you'll need to do your first top-up in store or online.

In Tesco stores

Buy a voucher in store and call 4444 free.

Online

Do a one-off top-up or set up a regular, auto or text top-up online.

By phone

Just call our automated line on 4444 free from a Tesco Mobile phone to top-up with a credit or debit card.

Getting your first Rocket Pack

Your first top-up will activate your new SIM card and it also turns into your first Rocket Pack. For example, if you top-up £10, your top-up will change into a £10 Rocket Pack. Your first top-up needs to be £10, £15 or £20.

After that you can choose from any of our six Rocket Packs. Rocket Packs last a month from when you buy them. They automatically renew at the end of the month, so you'll need to make sure that you've got enough credit on your phone.

The small print

For the whole of 2023, when periodically travelling in our Home From Home Destinations across Europe and beyond (HFH), calls and texts to standard UK landlines, UK mobile numbers, HFH landlines, HFH mobiles as well as data usage, will be charged as in the UK.
