If your recommendation is joining your existing account then you will get one bill, which will include all numbers on your account

An eligible tariff is any pay monthly phone contract or any pay monthly SIM only contract of 12 or 18 months. 1 month SIM only contracts aren’t included.

Yes, you can, as long as you both meet the Recommend A Friend conditions. If someone joins your account, you can both also enjoy the benefits of Family Perks.

You can recommend a friend if you’re on a Tesco Mobile pay monthly phone contract or a SIM only contract.

You can recommend any friends or family who aren’t with Tesco Mobile already. They’ll need to have a valid UK mobile number that they can bring from their current network across to Tesco Mobile. If they have already been recommended by someone else, you won’t be able to recommend them.

If you’ve got a friend or family member who’d like to join Tesco Mobile, ask if you can recommend them. If they say yes, then head to our Recommendations Centre and put their details in.

Once you’ve recommended a friend or family member, we’ll send them an email and a text letting them know that you’ve recommended them, how to join and how to get the money off their bill. If they join, we’ll check that all the Recommend a Friend conditions have been met, and if they have, you’ll both get the money off your next bill. If they join on your account the money will come off your account bill. See ‘What are the Recommend a Friend conditions?’ to find out more.

The amount you get off your bill depends on the tariff your friend or family member chooses. They can join Tesco Mobile on any pay monthly phone contract or any 12 or 18 month pay monthly SIM only contract. You will both get the same amount of money off your bill.

  • If they join on a tariff of less than £20 a month, you both get £10 off your bill
  • If they join on a tariff of £20 or more a month, you both get £20 off your bill

If they join on your account, then both rewards will be added to your account.

Remember that you need to make sure you both meet all the Recommend a Friend conditions to get the money off your bill. See ‘What are the Recommend a Friend conditions?’ to find out more.

You can check how your recommendations are going any time in our Recommendations Centre. You’ll be able to see who you’ve recommended, whether they’ve joined and if/when you’ll get the money off your bill.

If your friend or family member has joined, on an eligible tariff and brought their number over to Tesco Mobile, there a few possible reasons why you haven’t got the money off your bill. It could be that we’re still checking that you’ve both met all the Recommend a Friend conditions, or perhaps your friend or family member hasn’t received their first bill yet. You can check the status of all your recommendations in our Recommendations Centre.

Sorry no, if your friend or family member returns their phone within the 14 day cooling off period neither of you will get the money off your bill.

Yes, you can start recommending your friends and family 48 hours after you join Tesco Mobile. Please wait until 48 hours is up, otherwise your recommendation won’t work properly.

To bring your number over to Tesco Mobile, first you need to ask for a PAC from your old network. You can then use our text service to transfer your number, it’s really easy.

If you’ve joined on an eligible tariff and brought your number over to Tesco Mobile, there are a few possible reasons why you haven’t got the money off your bill. It could be that we’re still checking that you’ve both met all the Recommend a Friend conditions, or perhaps you haven’t received your first bill yet. If you change to an eligible tariff within 60 days of being recommended, you’ll should still be able to get your money off. To change your tariff, just give us a call on 0800 433 4990. If you joined on pay as you go, we can move you onto pay monthly and if you joined on 30 day SIM only, we can move you onto 12 month SIM only.

Sorry no, if you return your phone within the 14 day cooling off period neither of you will get the money off your bill.
