Crisis Partnership

At Tesco Mobile we know that a phone isn’t a luxury – it’s a lifeline. That’s why we’ve worked with Crisis to help reconnect vulnerable people

Over 227,000 families and individuals in England don't have a safe and stable place to call home, and many don’t have phones or data. Without digital connection they can’t access vital services, contact the people they need, or manage their lives the way we all expect to. We've help Crisis members by providing that connection.

How we’ve worked together

During the first lockdown, nearly 40% of our Tesco Mobile Little Helps donations were going to homelessness charities, so in August 2020, we began our 2 year partnership with Crisis UK. During this time we helped Crisis in their mission to end homelessness in Great Britain by:

  • Giving phones, devices and data to people experiencing homelessness
  • Helping people understand how having a phone and connectivity can help to end homelessness
  • Getting our Tesco Mobile colleagues and customers involved, to make a difference

How we helped

Since August 2020 we donated £941,000 worth of phones, devices and connectivity to Crisis for distribution to their members. We also raised and donated an extra £104,000 through activities like our Tesco Mobile Christmas (SIM) Card campaign, where the donations of our generous customers and colleagues helped 385 Crisis Christmas guests to access crucial services and support over the festive period.
