What is Twilight?

Twilight is an app that is designed to help you fall asleep at night by shading your phone from blue light to red when the sun goes down. This app is a great one for those who are struggling to fall asleep at night or to keep your kids from being hyperactive at bedtime.

How does this help you sleep?

We all know that you’re supposed to avoid looking at screens for a few hours before you go to bed, but most of us don’t succeed. This is because the blue light from your screens can trick your brain into thinking that it is still daylight making it harder for you to fall asleep.

If, like many of us, you don’t have the willpower to put down your phone when you should, then using the Twilight app to filter out the blue light as the sun goes down can be a great way around the problem. This can help you to get the good night’s sleep you deserve.

How does the app run?

When you download the app, it will figure out the time of sunrise and sunset using your location and then, around sunset, will start filtering out the blue tones on your phone and replace them with reds. This reverses at sunrise bringing your phone back up to white light during the daytime to help you wake up.

Ready to give it a go?

You can download this handy app today for Android. Currently, Twilight is not available for iPhones or iPads, but many of these have a night mode which has a similar effect that can be activated manually.
