Sway.ly
What is Sway.ly and how does it work?
Sway.ly is powered by cutting-edge AI that:
- Monitors your family’s activity on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok across unlimited devices, and sends alerts about harmful content
- Helps your children build better online habits by showing how harmful content affects wellbeing, guiding them to block or unfollow these accounts, and suggesting safer ones
- Gives you the guidance and information you need to have natural, ongoing conversations about online safety with your kids – helping build trust and stronger connections.
How much does it cost?
With our child safe SIM, you got a 3‑month free trial of the Sway.ly Family plan, and you had 30 days from the date of your Child Safe SIM registration to activate it. The plan was for up to 5 people across unlimited devices — for example, 2 parents/carers and 3 children.
After the free trial, if you chose to continue with your Sway.ly Family plan, you benefited from an exclusive discount of over 60% for up to 9 further months, paying just £4.99 a month instead of £12.99. This can be cancelled at any time.
The Sway.ly offer ended on 22 March 2026.
You can still subscribe to Sway.ly directly at their standard pricing. For the latest information, please visit the Sway.ly website.
Parental Controls
Tesco Mobile Parental Controls
Parental controls help block unsuitable content when your children go online using mobile data.
You can choose your parental control level – under 12 or the default under 18.
To change your content settings, you need to confirm your age first. Once confirmed, you can change your content settings at any time in your Account.
To manage your parental controls, login to My Account and follow these steps:
1. In the section Manage account
2. Click Manage Parental Controls
3. Select the Update button, next to Parental controls and favourite numbers
4. On the Security Settings page, enter or create your PIN
5. From here you can restrict your content to either under 12s, under 18s or 18+
6. If you haven't already confirmed that you're over 18, this is where we'll ask you to confirm your age with your credit card (Visa or Mastercard, sorry no debit cards - if you don't have a credit card, then please contact us. )
7. We’ll use your credit card details to verify this, no money will be deducted from your account.
You can also call 282 from your Tesco Mobile handset to manage your Parental Controls.
On-Device Parental Controls
Depending on your children’s device, you can also set parental controls directly on their device. This helps give protection when they’re connected to Wi‑Fi.
