Moving your number from one Tesco Mobile SIM to another

If you want to move your number to a different Tesco Mobile SIM then you can use our free text service to do it. You might need to do this if you’ve got a new device that uses a different size SIM.

Before you do, make sure you save your contacts to your phone and back up anything important (like photos or videos), as anything on your SIM won’t be transferred. If you’re a pay as you go customer, any credit, Rocket Pack or Bundle will also be transferred.

1. Text SWAP to 23424 from your original SIM card. It’s free
2. We’ll text you letting you know your number will be moved
3. Then we’ll text you asking you to reply with the serial number of your new SIM card – this is either a 13 or 19 digit number
4. We’ll text you asking you to put your new SIM into your phone. There may be a temporary loss of service during the next few hours before the new SIM activates. Your number will be on your new SIM within 24 hours

Not able to access your old SIM card?

You can also move your number to a different Tesco Mobile SIM by taking your new SIM card in store or by contacting us.
