How to update your app

Occasionally we update our pay monthly and pay as you go Tesco Mobile Apps to bring you new features or to fix the odd little bugs that we might find, so it’s good to make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the app on your phone.

This will tell you how to update your Tesco Mobile App on your device, but the same steps can be followed to update most of your other apps too.

In order to use the Tesco Mobile app, iPhone and Android users will need a device with a minimum operating system version of iOS 9.3.5 for iOS users, and Android 4.4 for Android users.

If you’re not sure what operating system version (also known as ‘software version’) your device has, you can check this by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘About’ > ‘Software information’ on most Android devices, and ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘About’ on most iOS devices.

If you have an Android device

You can download our pay monthly app or pay as you go app in the Google Play Store. Simply press the ‘Update’ button, check and accept any app permissions that might be requested and then sit back while your app updates. (Tesco Mobile App updates are free, as are most other app updates. If there is any charge to download or update an app, this will be made clear in the app store before you decide to press the update button).

If you don’t see an ‘Update’ button in the app store (so you will probably see ‘Uninstall’ and ‘Open’ options instead), then that means you already have the most up-to-date version of the app installed on your device and there is nothing more for you to do. To update other Android apps: Launch the ‘Google Play Store’ from the app menu on your Android device > Open the Menu in the top left-hand corner > Select ‘My Apps’ > Then select any of your individual apps to update, or simply press ‘Update all’.

 

 

If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

You can download our pay monthly app or pay as you go app in the Apple App Store. Simply press the ‘Update’ button, check and accept any app permissions that might be requested and then sit back while your app updates. (Tesco Mobile App updates are free, as are most other app updates. If there is any charge to download or update an app, this will be made clear in the app store before you decide to press the update button).

If you don’t see an ‘Update’ button in the app store (so you will probably see an ‘Open’ option instead), then that means you already have the most up-to-date version of the app installed on your device and there is nothing more for you to do.

To update other iOS apps: Launch the ‘App Store’ from the app menu or Home screen on your iOS device > Select ‘Updates’ in the bottom right-hand corner > Then select any of your individual apps to update, or simply press ‘Update all’.
