Tesco Mobile customers will be able to enjoy all of their favourite music for free this summer, thanks to a new partnership between the mobile network and blinkbox music.
Today’s announcement means that Tesco Mobile customers who upgrade to a Samsung S5, HTC M8 or Sony Z2, on a pay monthly contract will receive three months of free music through the blinkbox music app.
This will give them access to thousands of tracks, themed stations (for example, ones themed around this summer’s festival line ups) and exclusive playlists hosted by music heroes like the Kaiser Chiefs, Chrissie Hynde from The Pretenders and even Kylie.
Customers can stream music over Tesco Mobile’s super fast 4G network at no extra cost (where available), or listen offline by saving their favourite stations to their mobile phone.
The devices within the promotion come with at least 1GB of data, 5000 texts and 750 minutes per month and start from:
- £33 a month for a Samsung S5 with dedicated fitness tools and enhanced device protection features to stay fit and connected in style
- £32.50 a month for a HTC M8 with a 5 megapixel, wide-angle front facing camera to capture superior selfies
- £32.50 a month for the Sony Z2 with large, high-resolution 5.2” Full HD screen that features the world’s first Live Colour LED display.
The contracts are available to buy at Tesco Phone Shops, online or by calling the Tesco Mobile team on 0845 301 4455. Once the handset is activated on the Tesco Mobile network the customer will receive a text message with a unique blinkbox music code to access the blinkbox music service for free.
Simon Groves, Chief Marketing Officer of Tesco Mobile commented:
“With the World Cup and wonderful weather on our doorstep the summer playlist is a vital addition to ensuring maximum fun in the sun. Our customers loved it when we teamed up with Blinkbox movies so this time we're joining forces to give away free music all summer long with some of the best selling smartphones around."
The promotion will run from 23rd June to the 20th July.
